I am married to David since 2000 and we have three children, all whom attend Rock Hill Schools. Leo is a Freshman at Northwestern High School, Chloe a 7th grader at Dutchman Creek MS and Izabel in 4th grade at Mt Gallant Elementary. I am originally from Sweden and moved to the United States in 1997, and have enjoyed living in Rock Hill since 2003. I proudly became a US citizen in 2006.
I have a B.A. in Communication and Journalism from UNCC and a background in Real Estate Sales. For the past fifteen years I have been a stay at home parent and a community volunteer.
Prior to serving on the Rock Hill School Board I was a member of the Board of Directors for the Rock Hill Schools Education Foundation working with projects like Back the Pack and Teacher Grants. I have also served as the SIC Chair and PTA President at Mt Gallant Elementary among other positions. I am the current Vice President of Advocacy for the SC State PTA and the VP of Membership for the Palmetto Council of Boy Scouts of America.
I volunteer between 15-25 hours a week in the schools in RHSD3, and not just the ones where my own children attend. I enjoy serving as a PTA parent, swim parent, cross country parent and chorus parent, and am an active member of the Academic Booster Club Friends of Northwestern.
All of my community service work has been centered around children and education, because I believe that a strong public education is the key to a successful future.
In my free time I enjoy reading, baking cakes, home renovations and interior decorating. I love spending time with family and friends.
